Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
At Navitas, we believe that sustainable development is possible; to this end, we aim to strike a balance between economic development, environmental protection and social responsibility.
Navitas’ Principles of Sustainable Development are reflected in various commitments to our Stakeholders, that is, to those groups directly or indirectly affected by our activities, and who, in turn, can influence our development.
Guiding principles of sustainability
5 pillars of our sustainable actionWe therefore foster an organisational culture to ensure that our initiatives and business development are environmentally responsible, whilst promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
-
Environmental policy: At Navitas, we recognise that natural resources are limited; therefore, all our activities are guided by an environmental policy that aims to protect our environment by striking a balance between the resources we use and the care we take of nature.
- Environmental impact assessment: During the design process for a new project, and in conjunction with the mandatory Environmental Impact Assessment, we identify and incorporate all necessary preventive and corrective measures to avoid or minimise the associated environmental impact.
-
Emissions control: Because we know that our atmosphere is unique and essential for maintaining the balance of our planet, at Navitas we limit and control emissions from all our facilities.
- Waste management: We have the necessary infrastructure and procedures in place to ensure the proper sorting and management of industrial and urban waste. By managing our waste, we create a cleaner world, rich in resources for future generations.
- Wastewater treatment: At Navitas, we constantly invest in our facilities to improve the treatment capacity and quality of industrial wastewater, ensuring it receives the necessary treatment before being discharged into the receiving environment.
